Mrs. Kathleen A. Ordiway

Mrs. Kathleen A. Ordiway is a licensed lay minister at First Baptist Church of Niagara Falls, NY where she is co-pastor. She also leads women's retreats and workshops, held at her church and throughout the Western New York area, hoping to one day own a retreat center in the country.

Her faith has encouraged her to stretch out of her comfort zone and follow Jesus' leading, now attending Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School for a certificate in Christian Leadership. She was called to ministry in the spring of 2001 and has the desire to spread God's promise of comfort, forgiveness and grace during the troubled times we all face, as well as during times of great joy.

Kathleen is married to Toby; has 3 children, Christeen (married to Jeremy), Eileen and Tyler; two grandsons, Nico and Thomas and a granddaughter, Chloe.

In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys scrapbooking, quilting, reading, travel, exercising and spending as much time as possible with her family.

As well as being a lay minister, Kathleen portrays Anna Edson Taylor - the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive - at the New York State Park, for various tours and groups, as well as schools and women's groups; and she is a full time bookkeeper/secretary. She is a board member at Community Missions of Niagara Frontier.

Kathleen's favorite scripture passage is Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
