American Baptist Women (ABW)

First Baptist Church has an active ABW group for women and older girls which meets once a month at the church (currently after Worship, the third Sunday of the month). Each of us is encouraged to participate according to our needs, interests and gifts as led by the Holy Spirit. Our meeting starts with a bag lunch, followed by a meeting to collect the Love Gift and to discuss upcoming events and fund raising.

After our meeting we have our program, which is often a visitor active in some type of mission. During some meetings we roll bandages or prepare packages to send to national and international American Baptist missions. With so much going on in the world today, the hands-on mission work that we are involved in is very important.

We are affiliated with the national organization ( The five areas the organization addresses while we challenge ourselves to grow and act out our faith are:

1) Worshipping God  -  2) Caring for Others  -  3) Growing Spirituallity
4) Reaching Out to Others  -  5) Developing Spiritual Gifts

Our meetings and other special programs seek to meet each of these areas.
